October 15, 2009 Spent all night building the the servo controller box (to be located next to the computer), the remote servo power box (to be located near the witch), and the wire harness that goes between the two. It took about 7 hours to build all of this!
Photo
This is the remote servo power box. It supplies power to the servos locally (near the witch) while passing in the pulse (control signal) from the servo controller board that will be located inside the house.

I finally got the witch body out of storage.
Photo
I added some horizontal boards under the base to give the witch horizontal stability. This should prevent her from blowing over like she did last year.

Here are some photos of the witch head with the mechanics finished.

This is the old witch head from 2007 and 2008.
Photo
I built this styrofoam head in 2007.

The witch mask removed from the styrofoam head. We won't need the styrofoam head anymore.

I have cut the mouth open in the mask. A servo is going to make her talk.

Showing the mouth open.

Test of the 3-axis servos that will make the new witch head nod, tilt, and rotate.

Test of the jaw servo. Note that this is just a test audio track. The witch will be getting a female voice from one of our good friends.
